Storyboarding

Storyboarding plays a vital role in instructional design. As a student, I used to resist storyboarding, viewing it as an unnecessary and time-consuming task. Fortunately, my instructors persisted in emphasizing its importance.

My perspective shifted when I undertook the design of a civics course for seventh graders. Initially overwhelmed by the multitude of creative ideas I had, I felt blocked. Realizing the need for better organization, I turned to storyboarding.

Storyboarding involves the written and visual representation of all elements in a digital design, including descriptions, images, narration, music, and transitions. Through this process, I discovered the immense value of storyboarding in fostering creativity and structuring instructional design effectively.
